1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Bar Buddy, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 21 years old to use Bar Buddy due to alcohol-related content. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 21 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

Bar Buddy does not verify age during signup but reserves the right to request age verification and suspend accounts that violate this requirement.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and update your account information
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

We reserve the right to refuse registration or cancel accounts at our discretion.

4. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Post obscene, defamatory, or illegal content
• Violate any local, state, national, or international law
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Share others' personal information without consent
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Promote illegal activities, including underage drinking

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post ("User Content"), including posts, photos, comments, and reviews. By posting content, you grant Bar Buddy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. We do not endorse any User Content and are not responsible for its accuracy or legality.

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, without notice.

6. Venue and Event Information

Bar Buddy provides information about venues, events, and specials. While we strive for accuracy:

• Information is provided "as is" without warranties
• Venue hours, events, and specials may change without notice
• We are not responsible for incorrect information posted by venue owners
• Always verify critical details directly with the venue

7. Role-Based Features

Bar Buddy offers different account roles (Patron, Staff, Manager, Owner, Admin) with different capabilities:

• Patrons: Can browse venues, attend events, and use social features
• Staff: Can clock in/out for shifts at assigned venues
• Managers: Can create events and manage staff for assigned venues
• Owners: Can create venues and manage all aspects of their venues
• Admins: Bar Buddy team members with full system access

Role upgrades require verification. Misrepresenting your role or affiliation is prohibited.

8. Privacy and Data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

9. Intellectual Property

Bar Buddy and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by Bar Buddy and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without express written permission.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., Google Maps, venue websites, social media). We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third parties.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Use the Service at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BAR BUDDY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or personal information
• Any interruption or cessation of the Service
• Any bugs, viruses, or malicious code transmitted through the Service
• Any errors or omissions in content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of your use of content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available through the Service

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bar Buddy, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Your User Content

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@barbuddy.app.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Sections that by their nature should survive termination shall survive (e.g., ownership, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, limitations of liability).

15. Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Detroit, Michigan, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for violations of intellectual property rights.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you don't agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bar Buddy regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.

20. Alcohol Responsibility Disclaimer

Bar Buddy is an informational and social platform. We do not sell, serve, or deliver alcohol. Users are responsible for:

• Obeying all local laws regarding alcohol consumption
• Never drinking and driving
• Consuming alcohol responsibly
• Not providing alcohol to minors
