How do I create an account?

Click "Sign In" in the navigation, then choose to sign up with email or phone. You'll need to verify your email/phone before accessing all features.

How do I check in at a venue?

Visit a venue's page and use the presence panel to set your status to "HERE" or "HEADING". Your friends will be able to see where you are if your presence visibility is set to public.

Why do you need my location?

Location permission is optional but helps us show you nearby bars, events, and where your friends are hanging out. You can use the app without location by searching or browsing venues.

How do I add a friend?

Go to the People page, search for users, and click "Add Friend" or "Follow". Friend requests require mutual acceptance, while following is one-way.

Can I add my bar or restaurant?

Yes! If you're a venue owner, you can create a venue listing from the Dashboard. Select "Owner" role during signup or request role upgrade from your settings.

How do I manage my privacy?

Go to Dashboard → Settings to control who can see your presence, shifts, and profile. You can set visibility to public, friends only, or private for different aspects of your profile.

I'm a bartender. How do I use staff features?

Request "Staff" role in your settings. Once approved by a venue owner, you can clock in/out for shifts, and your followers will see when you're working.

How do I delete my account?

Email us at support@barbuddy.app with your account details. We'll permanently delete your account and personal data within 30 days.

The app isn't working. What should I do?

Try refreshing the page or restarting the app. Clear your browser cache if issues persist. If problems continue, email us with details about what you were trying to do and any error messages.
